Tourism is experiential learning at its finest form. Shouldn’t it’s marketing be just as interactive and experiential as actually being there? Don’t worry, if you don’t know, the answer is: Yes. Absolutely. Completely. Duh. I’d say so. You better believe it. Uh-huh.
TravelTex.com is an exemplary site on interactive and experiential tourism marketing. Their high quality video content, informative interviews, and wide range coverage of cities and topics helps potential travelers get to experience the state and the culture before arrival.
I found this tourism business model to be what other states and tourism campaigns should aim to replicate. Internet videos increases accessibility, and also allows for a more clear and inclusive narrative to be told to a greater audience.
Below is a composition of video content highlighting what I found to be the most effective storytelling techniques employed. Ideally, other travel initiatives could use this video, as well as the Travel Tex website, to understand the best methods to use video in an interactive tourism campaign.
Please note, I do not own any of this video, and all content was edited from TravelTex.com. If you would like any content or information removed, please let me know at kacie.lett@gmail.com. This was only used for a class project, and will not be used for any other purposes. Thank you.
